OUTSTANDING YEAR FOR HAVILAH AUXILIARY
The Havilah Auxiliary has once again provided outstanding financial support to Havilah Hostel Inc. Auxiliary President Rene Eastwood presented a cheque for $14,000 to Havilah CEO Barbara Duffin at the recent Havilah Auxiliary AGM.
The Havilah Auxiliary was formed in April 1991 to raise funds to supply furniture for the original 30-bed hostel. Since that time, Havilah has received $289,000 through the fundraising activities of the auxiliary. The group, though small in number, are greatly dedicated - a dedication that has never faltered in 23 years. The auxiliary raises funds through the operation of the Carisbrook Op Shop, raffles, fashion parades and Hoy afternoons.
In accepting the cheque, Barbara Duffin recognised the major efforts of the members in raising this substantial sum, and also recognised the other valuable work they do to assist Havilah in the provision of quality services. She thanked them on behalf of all at Havilah for their fabulous contribution over the years.
Ms Duffin said this year’s donation will again be put towards Havilah’s major projects.
