Havilah room details and pricing guide are available online
[please note - contact Havilah for an updated pricing sheet until further updates here]
We welcome you to Havilah where we give you the opportunity to thrive in aged-care regardless of your budget. Our detailed pricing and amenity descriptions are available for download further below. Under federal legislation a maximum price can be set for each room individually or alternatively similar rooms can be grouped together collectively. At our Harkness Street site all rooms are single occupancy with ensuite. The maximum price applying to all rooms on this site as at 1st July 2023 is $380,000. At Havilah on Palmerston and our newest facility 'Terrace' there is a price for Single Occupancy of a unit and a price per person for a couple sharing a Shared Occupancy unit. Maximum Prices applying to this accommodation as at July 2023 are $490,000 and $376,000 respectively. Please talk to us about our alternative pricing models. Residents will be able to choose to pay a RAD (Refundable Accommodation Deposit) or a DAP (Daily Accommodation Payment) or a combination of the two. The DAP is calculated by multiplying the MPIR (Maximum Permissible Interest Rate) currently at 7.9% by the (Accommodation Price less any RAD paid). DAP's can be deducted from any RAD lodged by request in writing. Residents cannot pay a RAD which will leave them with assets less than $57,000. Havilah has pricing models available which provide the opportunity for a reduction in the Accommodation Price and which also give further certainty for residents by capping the amount of the DAP that can be deducted during the period of residency. (conditions apply) Rules remain in place for those residents with lower value assets and the government will continue to contribute to the accommodation costs of these residents. (See links with full descriptions and pricing information from the amenity list further below and ask us about how the pricing system can work for you.) |
Does Havilah have beds available for people of low means? YES. More than 40% of our overall places are set aside for people with no assets or with only minimal assets. Can I still receive the pension if I live in an aged care facility? YES. If you are eligible for a pension you will still receive it whilst living in aged care. Pensioner couples (where one or both are living in aged care), each receive a single pension. If I have no assets will I be able to live at Havilah? YES. If you have no assets you will not need to pay any up front accommodation charge. Do I have to pay an upfront fee to become an aged care resident at Havilah? Not necessarily. If assets are valued at under $57,000 you will not need to pay any up front fees. What if my wife and I own our own home but only one of us is needing residential aged care accommodation? In this case the value of your home would not be included in your assets and only half of the other assets would be assessed. If I have assets under $57,000 what fees will I need to pay? You will only need to pay the basic daily fee. The government will provide a subsidy towards your accommodation costs. What if the value of my assets is above $57,000? Talk to us to work out the best way for you. The government will continue to pay a subsidy towards your accommodation costs, on a reducing scale, if your assets are between $57,000 and $193,219. |
