Havilah community and activities

Havilah's residential care celebrates a vibrant and active community where the calendar is always full!

To keep up-to-date with special events, weekly activities, fundraising, essential information, sports, outings, competitions and news download our latest newsletters (Havachat for residential care, Harkness, Tattler for residential care, Palmerston and HOP topics for retirement living at Palmerston). Follow our Facebook page for images of all of our social events. See how we have managed to travel to cinemas and restaurants all over the world in our own home!
There is an abundance of food, wine and beautiful scenery on offer in central Victoria. Amongst the activities on offer are visits to international exhibitions, tours of public gardens and historic homesteads in the region, lunches at vineyards in the Pyrenees, dining on delicious gourmet treats in restaurants, cafes and pubs in Avoca, Castlemaine, Creswick, Daylesford, Hepburn, and enjoying scenic delights at tourist destinations such as Tuki Trout Farm, gold prospecting, boating, tennis, bowling, golf, theatre, Avoca races, local markets, festivals and events. Yet there is so much more to explore and so much to look forward to. During the pandemic residents have enjoyed creative ways of dining in restaurants all over the world from the comforts of home!
When residents are not traveling all over the country side there are plenty of activities enjoyed within their comfortable home from bowling to cross-words, craft, art, cooking, dancing, musical entertainment and significant events such as Melbourne Cup day and spring racing events, Easter, Mother’s Day, ANZAC day, Halloween and more. Our annual Christmas BBQs are enjoyed by residents and families past and present from far and wide.

Indoor bowling, cooking and exercises are among the many activities enjoyed daily by the residents at Havilah.

Fundraising through the work and selflessness of volunteers provides the means for Havilah to purchase the best equipment and supply the best facilities for our residents. We are indeed fortunate to have your assistance and dedication.

We honour their outstanding contribution at the annual volunteer dinner. Approximately 100 kind people provide some 200 hours per week in volunteer hours.

Heath House dances have attracted residents and families from near and far.

The Christmas BBQ at Havilah on Harkness is a grand day out for residents and families.
